What we collect

IEP Compass does not require an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal information to use the site.

When you use the IEP Analyzer, you may paste or upload text from your child's IEP. That text is sent to our AI processing pipeline and then discarded. We do not store it, log it, or associate it with any user identifier.

Like most websites, our hosting provider may log standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. We do not use this data for advertising.

How your IEP text is processed

Your IEP text is processed in memory only. It is never written to a database or stored on our servers.

When you submit text for analysis, it is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our API, which passes it to Anthropic's Claude AI model for processing. The AI returns a structured report, which is displayed to you in your browser. After that, the text is gone.

Anthropic may process your input according to their own privacy policy. We recommend not including sensitive personal identifiers (such as Social Security numbers or medical record numbers) when submitting your IEP for analysis.

Cookies and analytics

IEP Compass does not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. If we add analytics in the future (to understand how the site is used and improve it), we will update this policy and use privacy-respecting tools.

Children's privacy

IEP Compass is intended for use by parents and guardians — adults advocating for their children. The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
